My wife and I moved into our home about two years ago with our two doggies. I noticed that we had a fire ant problem in our back yard. The fire ants started to come out when it was getting warm. I did some research and found a product that worked really well.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Over n' Out
  • Broadcast Spreader or hand seeder

Step1
I used a product called "Over 'n Out." Over 'n Out worked great for me, the only draw back is that it is a little expensive. However, it really does work and after I applied it, I never saw fire ants on my dogs feet or in the yard. Over 'n Out only needs to be applied once a year and it kills the queen, prevents relocation and reinfestation. I paid around $38 for a 20 pound bag. I brought two bags at Wal-Mart, but I know that Lowe's and Home Depot also sells it.
Step2
I paid around $20 for a broadcast spreader and it took no time to apply the granules to my yard.
Step3
This only only a recommendation. I am sure there are many other great products which work well. FYI- I live in Alabama and my yard consist of Bermuda grass. So, if you have the same weather conditions (South weather) and have Bermuda then this product might work well for you.

Tips & Warnings

  • You should read the package and follow the directions stated on the package. This only a recommendation.
