How to get a discount on just about anything

You know the old adage "It doesn't hurt to ask"? Well, it doesn't and it could save you tons of money. I hardly ever pay full price, I don't see the point especially because it's so easy not to. You don't need to sacrifice quality, you don't even need to shop at outlets or discount retailers.

1. Sales people are taught that when a person tells them "no" if they ask a few more times they will get a "yes" (granted there are exceptions to the rule). Lucky for us this is also true when it comes to purchases. However, using a little bit of humor will get you farther, faster than just badgering a sales person.
2. No matter what your shopping for be it shoes, clothes, household goods or all of the above a discount is just a question away. My husband, at just about every register, asks for "a handsome discount". Funny right? It gets him a discount 90% of the time!
3. I like to ask to ask the clerk about what I'm buying, for example "so, how much is this free extended warranty anyway?" (with a smile). I always get a chuckle with this; sometimes they actually give me the warranty if not chances are I will get a discount.
4. *ASK* it's that easy. Find a way that's clever and suits your personality. I have found humor to be essential. It's amazing what people are willing to do for you if you make them laugh.
