Save Multiple Files at Once in Microsoft Word

Sometimes, especially at work, you can have multiple Word documents going at once. Ever wonder if there is an easier way to save them all at once instead of wasting time saving them one at a time? There is a very quick and simple way to accomplish this.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Computer
  • Microsoft Word
  • Multiple Word Documents that Need to be Saved
  1. Step 1

Open Microsoft Word and prepare the multiple documents that will need to be saved.

  2. Step 2

Press and hold the “Shift” key on the keyboard.

  3. Step 3

While holding the “Shift” key, click the “File” menu on the toolbar. This will show the drop down menu and a new feature called “Save All” instead of the normal “Save” feature. Select “Save All”.

  4. Step 4

This will open the “Save As” window. As usual, choose the location to save the first document and make sure the file name is correct and then click “Save”.

  5. Step 5

Now another “Save As” window will be on your screen for you to save the next document. Continue to save the other documents in the correct location and with the correct file names. Once you save all documents correctly there will be no more “Save As” windows.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you hold the “Shift” key before clicking the “File” menu, because it will not display the “Save All” option if you do not do it in the proper order.
