How to Quickly Cover Gray Hairs

Almost everyone has at least one gray or silver hair that pops up, normally on the top of the head for all to see. If you only have one, then plucking it from your head is the easiest solution, but if you have more than one and want to hide them there is a quick way to do it.

Things You’ll Need:

• Multiple Gray Hairs
• Black, Brown, and/or Black/Brown Mascara

1. Choose a color of mascara that matches the color of your hair the best. If you have lighter hair it may not work, but you won’t be able to see your gray hairs as much anyway.
2. Find the gray hairs that need to be covered and lift them away from your other hairs.
3. Remove the mascara wand from the container and make sure there are no clumps on the wand. You may need to roll the wand on a small piece of toilet paper to ensure there are no clumps hiding on the wand.
4. Hold the wand in one hand and the hairs in question in the other and gently run the wand through the hairs from root to tip, just as with your eyelashes.
5. Set down the mascara wand and gently fan the hairs until they are dry enough to touch. Then lay the hairs back down and gently smooth them into place with your fingertips. Now you can finish your hair and be on your way.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not over-coat your hairs or they will look clumpy and apparent.
• Once the hairs are dry and in place, you may want to spray lightly with hairspray, so it will stay longer.
• Try not to brush the hairs once covered with mascara or you will end up reapplying and possibly picking mascara flakes from your hair.
• Do not use mascara on your eyes that you have used on the hairs of your head. This can contaminate the product and could cause infections with your eyes.
