How to Unfreeze or Reset your iPod Nano

The iPod Nano digital media player, like any electronic device, can freeze and quit working properly. When this happens, reset the device to restore functionality and unfreeze the device. Performing this reset process allows you to continue using your iPod Nano device without losing any of your digital media content.

Instructions

1. Press and hold the "Sleep / Wake" button on your iPod Nano.

2. Press and hold the "Volume Down" button while continuing to hold the "Sleep / Wake" button.

3. Wait approximately eight seconds for the Apple logo to appear on your iPod Nano's display. You have now unfrozen and reset your iPod Nano.

Tips & Warnings

• If resetting your iPod Nano does not restore functionality, use the power adapter to plug in your device to an electrical outlet and repeat this process.
