Step 1
Log in to your website's Joomla administrative page. Locate and click on the "Modules" button at the top of the administrative page. In this drop-down menu, click on "Site Modules." On the next page that it takes you to, scroll down to and click "Newsflash."

Choose the category into which you intend to import the information you need for your newsflash section. Once you have selected a content category, you can begin editing the newsflash page.

Enter the name you want for your newsflash page into the "Title" field. Your chosen title will be displayed at the top of the module page. You can choose whether or not to display the title by clicking "Yes" or "No" in the "Show Title" field.

Select the position that you want your newsflashes to appear. You can choose to display these at the top, bottom or the sides of the page. In the "Published" field, decide whether or not you want your newsflash module to be displayed at your Joomla website.

Choose how you want to display your newsflash section by making a selection from the "Style" options under the "Parameters" section. If you choose to "randomly choose one at a time," it will show one news update each time the page loads.

Select "Yes" or "No" to determine whether or not you want images posted to your newsflash section. Click "Hide" or "Show" to enable or disable the "Read more" option. Enabling this function lets your users link directly to a corresponding article in your newsflash. Enter the number of items you want displayed in your newsflash section.

Click the "Save" icon (at the top right of the page) to save and publish your new newsflash section.
