The tequila sunrise got its name from the way it looks in the glass. It looks just a sunrise when the orange juice and grenadine settle in the glass. It is a very pretty and popular drink that many love.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 4 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz grenadine
  • Garnish with a lime or orange wedge and a cherry
  1. Step 1
     

    The tequila sunrise was created in Mexico as a way of welcoming tourists into Acapulco and Cancun. Although the year of it's creation is hard to determine since there are many different stories behind it, it is now a classic cocktail that is here to stay.

  2. Step 2
     

    he tequila sunrise has to be one of the most beautiful drinks since it looks like your own little sunrise in your glass. It goes down quit smooth with its citrus taste, it can be hard to tell there is alcohol in it. The drink itself is so popular that there is even a movie named after it "Tequila Sunrise".

  3. Step 3

    Pour the tequila and the orange juice into a high glass over ice and stir.
    Then add in the grenadine and allow it to settle. (do not stir again)
    Add a garnish or either a lime or orange wedge and a cherry.
    Serve with a straw.
    Enjoy!
