How to Bathe a Hamster

Sometimes a hamster becomes as stinky as their cage, but there is a way to solve that problem, here’s how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• 2 washcloths
• Warm water
• Mild hand soap
• Pan/washbasin

1. Fill a pan/wash basin with warm water.
2. Wet one washcloth.
3. Lather on a small amount of hand soap. Do not get soap in the hamster’s eyes, ears, nose, or mouth.
4. Gently and carefully wash your hamster. During bathtime hamsters are extremely wiggly; however, giving them their favorite treat before and after their bath will teach them to be more cooperative.
5. Wrap second washcloth around hamster and dry thoroughly.
6. Return hamster to freshly cleaned cage.
