Did your cat or dog have an accident in the house? Maybe they were mad at you for being gone all day. Either way, their pee stinks! In this article you will learn how to remove the terrible smell that animals can sometimes leave behind.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Towel or paper towel
  • Bottle of Ammonia

Step1
As soon as you see the spot where the urine is place a towel that has been folded many times on top of it.
Step2
Stand on top of the towel (please make sure you have shoes on!)
Step3
Lift the towel, check to see if all urine is soaked up. Do this either by placing another towel down to see if it gets wet or just feel it.
Step4
If it is soaked up, then pour ammonia around the outside of the spot first, then over the rest of the spot. You do not want to flood the house with this, but make sure you pour enough to soak through to the carpet pad.
Step5
Repeat steps 1 through 3 and let air dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • I use this method every time one of my animals have had an accident.
  • It smells terrible at first, but it rids the smell of the urine.
  • The smell of the Ammonia does not last long.
  • USE IN WELL VENTILATED AREA (open a door, turn on a fan)
  • You should test this on an inconspicuous area of your carpet before using.
  • I have not used this method in cars or on wood floors.
