For some of us waking up on time in the morning is extraordinarily difficult. Not everyone is a morning person and some of us need to go to extremes to wake up. Check out these tips to help you rise and shine on time..
Prep work. Plan in advance for an early morning rise. Head to bed an hour before you think you need to. Do your best not to not take anything to help you sleep--medications will leave you a bit groggy.
Step2
The alarms. The basic alarm clock is nice but sometimes we grow accustom to them and can even turn them off in our sleep. Set up an alarm clock that is out of reach on the other side of the room; in a place where you have to stand up to turn it off. Set this one as your emergency alarm. Set it later than your other alarms (see Step 3).
Step3
Other alarms. Set up an alarm or two or three on your cell phone. Most let you pick the tone you’d like to wake to--the more obnoxious ring the better, or record yourself yelling to wake up. It sounds absurd, but the sound of your own voice shouting at you wake up really works.
Step4
Wake to music. If these two options don’t get it done then go high-tech. You can set an alarm on your iPod so that it blasts some music at you in the morning. Or you can set it to quiet music to gradually get you up. Just make sure it is plugged in to speakers that are turned on.
Step5
More tech options. Check out tech websites for high-tech alarm clocks. They make some extreme options, such as an alarm clock on wheels that runs away from you or a clock that lowers from the ceiling.

And.. if i may add the all time college favorite: sleeping with a full bladder, lol. Great for waking up very early to study the following morning! Cool article!

Great advice! I have definitely gotten to the stage of being able to sleep through a music alarm, so I set my cell phone...Wish I was a morning person! 5 Stars!

Good tips- except I'm REALLY not a morning person and end up speeding to get to work on time. I have turned off my alarm many times, kick my husband for having the alarm on his cell phone to help me wake up, and when the alarm was place above the fire place, I would quickly get up to make the noise stop, turn it off, go back to bed. :P As of recently, I dream that my alarm clock talks to me telling me it's slowing down time for me to sleep a little longer. Yeah- I know, don't say it.

on 5/30/2008 If this doesn't help get up in the morning nothing will. I would also add that routines seem to help me get up as well.
