Step 1
Decide what brand of flea medication you need. If you are not sure which one to choose, ask your veterinarian, family or friends for recommendations. It will depend on the individual cat's needs.
-
Step 2
Make a list of all of the products you would like to research. Leave plenty of space to make notes and list prices for each.
-
Step 3
Call (or go to) your local options first. This should include supermarkets, pet stores and veterinarian offices. Write the prices found on your list. If you have a prescription for the flea medication from your veterinarian, you will not have as many options available. You will be able to find some online, so be sure to check there.
-
Step 4
Check the prices for cat flea medication online at several different sites.
-
Step 5
Write the prices you find on the list and also include any charges for shipping. You will most likely not have to pay taxes on the products, unless you purchase from a retailer in your state.
-
Step 6
Once you have several different options available. Select the best price for the product(s) you need. You may be surprised how much you can actually save.

on 3/29/2008 When you rid your cat of fleas you will also need to make sure that your home is flea free. You can do this easily by using a mixture of flea powder, baking soda and a little borax. Mix together in a container. Be sure to TEST A SPOT on the things you will put this on first. You can shake this on the furniture, carpets and kitty's (or Bowser's)bed and let it sit for about 15 minutes then vacuum it up. This will help to kill any fleas that travel into your home on your feet or if your pets go out and come back in. Fleas will jump onto people and into your home if you go out into your yard. This solution will help to rid them from your home and thus will make it easier for any treatment that you use on your pet even more effective and less costly.
