How to use Wonder Board

Wonder Board cement backer board is excellent for places where tile meets carpet or cabinets. It can be used in wet areas such as bathrooms, exterior decks or counter tops.

Things You’ll Need:

• 1/4" WonderBoard
• You will need other items such as backerboard screws, thinset, but this article is explaining the backerboard.

1. 1/4" Wonder Board is a glass-mesh, cement backer board. It remains stable while increasing in strength, even when exposed to continuous moisture, reducing potential damage from moisture penetration. Easy to score, snap, cutout and nail. Protected by Mold Gard to resist mold and mildew.
2. Wonder Board is not a water barrier but it is unaffected by water.
3. The fasten the backer board you would use their own brand of backer board nails or galvanized roofing nails, 1-1/2" long.
4. The wonder board has preprinted dots for fastener spacing. The 1/4" backer boards are most useful on floors, exterior decks or counter tops.
