Things You'll Need:
- A smile
- Organization
-
Step 1
Smile. It doesn't sound like a big thing, but your tables will respond to your smile.
-
Step 2
Be attentive. There is a fine line between attentive and over-bearing. Try not to cross it.
-
Step 3
Anticipate the needs of your table. If someone at your table has ordered French fries with their meal, do not make them ask you for ketchup.
-
Step 4
Get the order correct. A good way to avoid confusion is to repeat the order back to the guest. Before placing the order to the kitchen, double check to make sure you've gotten all special orders correct.
-
Step 5
Be prompt. When the table is seated, try to greet them within the first minute. If you're too busy to take an order, just stop by long enough to tell them you will be right with them.
-
Step 6
Check back with your table to make sure all of their needs are being met, especially after delivering their food. Try to check back with them within the first few bites of there food in order to ensure they are happy with their meals.
