Laundry is enough of a chore without having to worry about ironing. Yet sometimes normal washing leaves you with wrinkled clothes. If you hate having to iron your clothes, try these tricks to get your clothes wrinkle-free fresh out of the dryer. This method also eliminates the need for dryer sheets, which can save you money.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup plain white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 4 to 6 tennis balls
  • Hangers
  1. Step 1

Add white vinegar during the rinse cycle. It will help eliminate static cling, lint and wrinkles. And don't worry, your clothes won't smell like vinegar once you take them out of the wash.

  2. Step 2

Throw four to six tennis balls into the dryer with your clothes. They'll make more noise in your dryer than usual, but they won't harm your dryer. The tennis balls keep the air in the dryer moving and prevent the clothes from clumping together. This not only helps eliminate wrinkles, but it also makes your clothes dry faster and saves energy.

  3. Step 3

Hang up freshly dried clothes immediately to keep wrinkles from setting in.

  4. De-Wrinkling Clothes That Are Already Clean

  5. Step 1

Place clothing item on a hanger.

  6. Step 2

Hang item in the bathroom and run a hot shower. The steam will act as a de-wrinkler for the garment.

  7. Step 3

Another option is to throw the wrinkled garment into the dryer with a wet sock and tumble for 10 minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add 1/2 cup baking soda to the washing machine when you add your detergent to give the detergent an extra boost. Baking soda eliminates odors and contributes to whiter whites and brighter colors.
  • If you have a garment that's particularly prone to wrinkles, add a clean, wet washcloth to the dryer along with the clothes and tennis balls. However, if you've used the vinegar, your clothes should be mostly wrinkle-free by the time they come out of the wash.
  • Do not use this method with a large load of laundry. To be effective, the tennis balls need space to move around. Divide your laundry into small or medium-sized loads.
