"Kingdom of Loathing:" It's a Parody. It's an RPG. It's stick figures. It's essentially one of the silliest, most addictive games on the Internet, with six glorious character classes to choose from. If you decide to be a Sauceror, you should read on.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet Connection

Step1
Learn Sauceror philosophy. Saucerors are the chameleons of KoL. They can act as a muscle class or moxie class by using potions, or they can load up on spells and go the spell-slinging route. Either is a viable strategy, and you may end up doing a bit of both
Step2
Develop potion notion. Advanced Saucecrafting is your number one skill. It lets you summon 3 reagents a day, which you should do as soon as possible. Each reagent can be cooked with a fruit to give you 3 potions. And each potion can give you some serious 10-turn stat boosts. How serious? Try +100% to any stat, or +50% to all three at once with tomatoes. If you have a really tough boss, try stacking the tomato potion with a +100% potion, and the boss will drop in no time.
Step3
Study Spellslinging basics. Your spells will only do hot or cold damage as a Sauceror, which can be a problem when your opponent is immune to one of them. The skill to fix this is Immaculate Seasoning, but that can only be grabbed at lvl 14. Meanwhile, make use of the guild elemental cookbooks to make sure your spells are the right temperature.
Step4
Know which spells to boost. Stream of Sauce and Saucestorm may not do much damage, but buy Intrinsic Spiciness, a guild cookbook and a chefstaff, and you'll be surprised how much it does. You can either stick to these two low spells and boost them, or...
Step5
Spin the Spheres. Jabanero and Jalapeno Saucespheres will return HP and MP to you when you cast sauce spells. The bigger the spell, the more is returned. This means that if you cast Wave of Sauce or Saucegeyser, not only are you damaging the enemy, but you're also healing yourself a fair bit at the same time. The gain more than makes up for the mana used to cast the spheres.
Step6
Choose an approach. Get Advanced Saucecrafting as soon as possible, and start saving up reagents. Try to kill what you can with butt-rock hair and boosted Stream of Sauce, even if it means not advancing super-fast. Take the time to farm tomatoes in the kitchens until you can access the hippy store. Once you have a steady supply of tomatoes, you've got 90 adventures a day of tomato power (or sarcasm, once you can buy olives). Use and abuse it.
Step7
Know what to keep. If you'll be a Sauceror again, Immaculate Seasoning and Impetuous Sauciness are both passive skills that will greatly improve your game. If not, Advanced Saucecrafting is clearly the skill to take.

Tips & Warnings

  • Elemental Saucesphere is great for passing all sorts of elemental tests, from the bat cave to the mountain to the dungeon.
  • Feel free to save up bosses until you have a few available at once, then drink all the different types of potions you can and clean house.
  • Although Saucespheres are entertaining once they get going, buying all the necessary skills can be expensive.
