Paints, crayons and stickers are a fact of life for children. But left to their own devices, kids can make a big mess. You should know how to corral your child's budding artistic supplies.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put markers in a gallon zip-top bag. This way they're easy to transport, see and store.

  2. Step 2

Put crayons in a plastic container, shoe box or zip-top bag. Crayons are more fragile, so a box might be better. Just make sure children can see easily what's inside to best choose color and help with clean up.

  3. Step 3

Create a section of the arts and crafts area for coloring books, blank paper and construction paper. Since these share a similar size, consider a file folder for the paper or a section of a bookshelf.

  4. Step 4

Put pencils, paintbrushes and erasers in a cup. This way they're easily available for quick grabbing by your little ones.

  5. Step 5

Keep craft kits together, either in their original box or an appropriately sized zip-top bag or box. Keep the pieces together to ensure your child can use the items once they've refocused on the kit.
