Once you've determined the color scheme for your home, you can use those colors to help you create rooms that flow easily from one to the next. Decorating using a color palette for a room is an easy way to manage your budget as well as create a unified home.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Main home color palette
  1. Step 1

Use your main color palette to help drive the color palette for your room. You may add complimentary colors, but don't select colors that don't work with the main colors in your house.

  2. Step 2

Define what the key color will be in the room and use it for the walls and largest pieces of furniture. Invest in good paint and the highest quality furniture you can afford for this key color.

  3. Step 3

Determine the accent colors and use them for rugs, pillows, window shades and art. Once you know the accent colors, you can shop anywhere from designer showrooms to a local budget store with confidence.
