To run a volunteer meeting smoothly and efficiently, it helps to have an agenda that everyone can follow. Keep your meetings on track by following these tips to create an agenda for your next volunteer meeting.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Generate topics from each area of your group. Contact your board members, if applicable, or committee chairs to receive input on what they'd like put on the agenda.
Step2
Review past agendas. Many volunteer organizations have archives of previous meetings that you can review. Take a look at the archives to be sure you're not missing something essential.
Step3
Look at the calendar. Make sure that any previous events are on the agenda so that the organization can receive an update. Similarly, make sure upcoming events are on the agenda so that your members are aware of them and can participate.
Step4
Focus the agenda. You can run the meeting by calendar or functional area, but focus your agenda on one or the other to keep your meeting moving forward. Calendar meetings are typically more efficient as they make chronological sense, but functional area is also a good choice. It allows each section of the organization to report in.
