Chapped lips and hands can be painful as well as unattractive. You can apply a treatment to chapped skin that will not only relieve the condition but keep it from coming back, providing you use it regularly.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Glycerine
  • Lemon juice
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Granulated (table) sugar
  • Bowl or paper towel
  • Moisturizing cream

How to Treat Chapped Lips and Hands

Step1
Mix lemon juice and glycerine in equal amounts. Place the mixture on your lips and hands overnight. The glycerine infuses moisture into your lips and skin while the lemon juice exfoliates, removing dead skin cells.
Step2
If want a quicker, alternative method rub some petroleum jelly over your lips and hands. Apply liberally.
Step3
Rub sugar over your lips and hands. Be gentle and thorough. For your lips, rub back and forth and for your hands, rub in a circular motion. Wash your hands with warm, soapy water. Your lips can be wiped off with a tissue or paper towel.
Step4
Reapply lip balm or petroleum jelly to your lips and a moisturizing cream to your hands.
