A scarf can make a fashion statement¬—from super-stylish to wacky—while keeping you warm and toasty when you’re out in the cold. Making your own knotted fleece scarf is a project that can be completed in an afternoon.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3/l6 yard of printed fleece fabric
  • 3/16 yard of coordinating solid fleece fabric
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Thread
  • Sewing Machine
  1. Step 1

Pin the printed fleece and solid fleece fabric pieces, right sides together.

  2. Step 2

Position the fabric so that you begin stitching a ¼-inch seam four inches away from the end of one side of the fabric. Stop stitching when you are four inches away from the opposite end of the fabric. Repeat on the other side. You now have an open tube.

  3. Step 3

Turn the tube right side out then carefully cut five 1 ¼-inch wide strips into each end (through both pieces of fabric). The strips should be 4-inches long, ending where your seam begins.

  4. Step 4

Tie the strips into knots. Each knot should be made up of a patterned strip and a solid strip.
