Send birth announcements as soon as your newborn arrives.

The birth of a child is an exciting time that requires a large amount of preparation. Once the baby comes, she will take up a lot of the parents' time and attention. Birth announcements are one thing that parents can partially get ready before the birth, and then quickly finish up after. Fortunately, with the invention of the Internet, parents can conveniently send a birth announcement to all of their family and friends via email. This method of delivery not only saves time for the parents, but it also allows relatives to receive the news instantly.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather together all of your family and friends' email addresses and create a group within your email account. You may want to name this group "Birth Announcements," or simply "Family and Friends." This can be done prior to the birth.

    • 2

Choose a Bible verse, nursery rhyme or appropriate poem to use in the birth announcement. You will want to do this before the baby comes, as it may require some time to research.

    • 3

Click on the "Birth Announcement" group within your email account after the newborn arrives, and choose "Email Group."

    • 4

Put "Welcome Baby Smith" in the subject section of your email, replacing Smith with your family's last name.

    • 5

Type in your prearranged verse, nursery rhyme or poem as your introduction. If you saved it in a word document ahead of time, you can just copy and paste it into your email birth announcement.

    • 6

List the baby's full name, date and time of birth, height and weight in the body of the email. Add any additional details that you wish to share, such as hair or eye color.

    • 7

Attach a photo of the new baby to the email. If you have more than one picture, you can add them. Just don't attach too many photos because some family members might not be able to open an email with a large amount of attachments.

    • 8

Create a closing statement that describes your excitement at being able to share this event with caring family and friends. Sign with an email signature, or type your names at the end of the email.

    • 9

Click the send button to deliver the email birth announcement to all of your family and friends within seconds.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add the name of any siblings to the closing of the birth announcement.
