Some may think that making spaghetti is a chore. In this article, I will show you how to make spaghetti that your family and friends will love, without alot of time and hassle.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Approximately 26.5 oz can garlic and herb spaghetti sauce (you pick your brand).
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar,(or 1 packet of splenda)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic, (or 1 tsp. garlic powder)
  • chopped dry basil leaves (optional)
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes, or 2 fresh tomatoes, chopped
  • 16 oz box of spaghetti noodles
  • 1 tsp. vegetable oil

Step1
Brown ground beef in large saucepan or skillet. Drain grease.
Step2
Add chopped onion, spaghetti sauce, tomatoes, minced garlic, basil, and 1/2 tsp. sugar to pan. Bring to a boil, then stir well and cover and let simmer over medium heat for 20-30 min. Stir occasionally.
Step3
Follow directions on box for noodle preparation, but add 1 tsp. of vegetable oil to water to keep noodles from sticking.

Tips & Warnings

  • After sauce and noodles are done, remove from heat and serve. If you have the time, allow the sauce to cook on low for another half hour or so. The longer it simmers, it seems to get better. If you do this, also wait a little longer before starting the noodles. That way they will be fresher. A nice addition to this is a side salad and garlic bread. Enjoy!
