Snoring can be a problem not just for your spouse but for you as well. There are many reasons that one can snore. Most likely you have found out if you are a snorer or not by the ones that live with you.

Step1
Snoring can affect anyone, young or old and it can happen once in awhile or every time you sleep. It may be a sign of an illness and if you are a constant snorer when you sleep it is best to ask your doctor about it.

Here are some reasons that you may snore ~

Seasonal allergies ~ These can make some people's noses stuffy and make them snore.

Being overweight ~ This can cause narrowing of the air passages making you snore.

Drinking alcohol ~ This can relax your tongue and throat muscles too much, which partially blocks air movement when you are breathing and can make you snore.

A deviated septum ~ This is the tissue and cartilage that is located in between your nostrils in your nose, they may be crooked causing you to snore. you can have surgery to correct this problem, it also can help you to breathe better.

Blocked nasal passages or airways ~ This can happen when you are sick with a cold or that sort and cause you to make a snore like sound.

Enlarged or swollen tonsils or adenoids ~ Many children that snore it is due to this problem. This is the part that collects bacteria and it may be swollen and enlarged most of the time.

Although many women will not admit to it, there are many women that snore. Men are twice as likely to snore, but just know that women do as well. Many are to embarrassed to ask a doctor about snoring but it should be of some concern and you should ask.

There are corrective procedures that can be done to help correct snoring. Surgery is one that is highly effective for snoring. Talk to your doctor and see what options there are out there for you.
