How to find out if your kids have food allergies

Finding out that your child has food allergy can be pretty easy once you know the signs to recognize as a symptom as a food allergy. While each person is different the majority of food allergies start by a runny nose and a tingling of the tongue or throat and even a rash or itching of the skin such as hives

Here are some of the most common signs that your child or yourself are suffering from a food allergy....

sneezing
hoarse voice
stomach pain
wheezing
cough
nausea
vomiting
tightness in the throat
diarrhea

There are certain foods that are known to case an allergic reaction more then other foods such as...

Peanut and other nuts
seafood, shellfish and any other kind
milk, most commonly cow's milk
eggs
soy
wheat

Children can have food allergies as soon as they are born and are often due to genetics. Some children are allergic to some of the things that the mother eats and can react to their mothers breast milk as an infant. The best thing to do is to always know the ingredients that are in the food that you and your child are consuming. This way if they develop a reaction you can limit the potential allergic food easily.

So if you recognize any of the symptoms that I have listed above after your child has consumed something then you should contact your child's doctor to determine what you should do,. If it is an emergency and your child is having a hard time breathing or suffering from another symptom then call 911 immediately.

Food allergies re very common and rest assured that there is plenty you can do to make sure that your child does not suffer again from the same allergies they already encountered. Once you know what the food allergy that your child had then it is easy to read the ingredients listed in the products that you purchase and make sure that it is not listed.

There are ways that your child's doctor can test for allergies by performing blood allergy. Once you know what is at risk to your child it is fairly easy to help them. Make sure that if your child is ion school that their teacher is aware of any allergies so they can watch out for them as well. It is very common to have food allergies and your child can live a very productive life with food allergies so don't worry to much.
