There are always new diet trends that promise to help you lose all the unwanted weight that you have. The 1000 calorie diet is a drastic cut in the average persons diet that will in fact help you lose the weight.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Willpower
  • Patience
  1. Step 1

    . The problem is once you stop the diet and resume back to your healthy amount of calorie intake you may gain all the weight right back! You can not live your life eating only 1000 calories a day or else you will be starving your body of needed nutrients and needed calories.

    Eating only 1000 calories a day will end up slowing your body's metabolism down after time and that will not help you lose any weight. Your body will hold on to every calorie to get the needed nutrients. So with that being said, the 1000 calorie diet is recommended to only be done for a week at a time.

  2. Step 2

    With this diet you need to mark down EVERY calorie that you consume including juice, coffee, and EVERY other item you may over look. Portion size is very important to be able to count every calorie. There are still some low calorie snack options for you to have through the say, but stick to the serving that is equivalent to one at a time.

  3. Step 3

    Calorie are needed to give us energy. So again make sure that you DO NOT follow this type pf diet for very long. Talk to your doctor of course before you begin any diet regimen. There is no diet that is suitable for everyone, so discuss your options with your doctor before beginning ANY diet.

  4. Step 4

    A typical daily meal on the 1000 calorie diet may look like this....

    * BREAKFAST *
    1 whole wheat English muffin with one or two pats of low fat butter
    1 cup of fruit of your choice
    1 cup of tea or coffee
    8 ounces of water

    * SNACKS *
    1 cup of fruit or 2 cups of low butter popcorn
    8 ounces of water

    * LUNCH *
    Salad with 2 tablespoons of dressing (low calorie) with 1/2 cup of tuna
    1 serving of whole wheat crackers
    8 ounces of water
    1 can of diet soda

    * DINNER *
    Salad with 2 tablespoons of dressing (low calorie) with a six ounce chicken breast (grilled and skinless)
    1 cup of vegetables with 1 or 2 pats of low fat butter if you like
    8 ounces of water

  5. Step 5

    Of course there are many alternatives to the above daily food intake, but this is a look at the diet of 1000 calories a day.
