Things You'll Need:
- A Metal Guitar slide. Dont use glass for electric. Glass is for accoustic.
- A Chorus effect
- A Volume Pedal
- Delay Effect
-
Step 1
First, you need to make sure you have the Chorus. That is the main part of the sound. The Steel Guitar has a natural chorus sound so that is why I say this. Most chorus pedals let you adjust speed and wetness. If you play much guitar you know what I mean by this. Do not set your speed too high, set it at about 45 Percent. Wetness should be about 60 Percent.
-
Step 2
Run your chorus into your volume pedal. You want to Finger pick a note, with the volume pedal all the way off, and make sure it is fretted with the slide (I wear it on my pinkey) . Increase the volume pedal as the note rings. You can already hear that steel guitar sound.
-
Step 3
Practice being able to hit the notes you want with the slide first, corresponding with the volume pedal, and get kinda good at that. Once you are, run your volume pedal into a delay pedal. Turn on some heavy delay and listen to the beautiful sounds you can create.
