Things You'll Need:
- Hat
- Sunscreen
- Booty bag
-
Step 1
Walk along the beach and look for the teeth in the sand. Scoop sand into a strainer and sift through the sand like a panhandler searching for gold.
-
Step 2
Patrol the shallows with a snorkel and mask. Using a sifting device underwater works remarkably well, too.
-
Step 3
Visit nearby Casey Key or Nokomis. While not in Venice, the teeth don't know it. The truth is that it isn't just Venice, but this section of Florida's coast is loaded with shark teeth.
-
Step 4
To find giant, prehistoric teeth, grab a scuba tank and sift through the sand offshore in the 15 to 20-foot water depth range. If there is a current, work up current.

on 2/10/2009 This is a great article. We used to go shark's teeth hunting in Venice when I lived there. We found a lot. 5 Stars!
