Things You'll Need:
- A computer running either the Windows or Macintosh operating system with at least one FireWire (IEEE 1394) port available for use
- A Digidesign Digi 002 Rack (with included Pro Tools LE software)
-
Step 1
After unpacking the Digidesign Digi 002 Rack, make sure that no contents are missing. Refer to the packing slip or relevant material for the specific items, which should at least include the Digi 002 Rack, one FireWire cable, reference guides, software installation CD-ROMs and an AC power cable.
-
Step 2
Place the unit onto a flat, stable surface to avoid damage or secure the interface in a rack; (bear in mind that the Digi 002 Rack is 3.5 inches in height and will, therefore, occupy two spaces in a standard-sized rack).
-
Step 3
Connect the AC power cable to the rear of the Digi 002 Rack and to an appropriate power source. Turn on the power to the unit (the power button is located on the left hand side of the front panel) to verify that it is functioning properly.
-
Step 4
Insert one end of the included FireWire cable to the rear of the unit, and the other to an open FireWire port on either the front or back of your computer; (the exact location will depend upon the model).
-
Step 5
Insert the appropriate installation CD-ROM (typically, there will be separate discs for Macintosh and Windows) and begin installing the Pro Tools LE software.
-
Step 6
Further software configuration differs considerably depending upon your operating system. Consult Digidesign's enclosed reference material for more information.
-
Step 7
Once the installation process is complete, you may begin connecting your available audio, MIDI and peripheral devices, and begin recording.
