Things You'll Need:
- A quiet relaxing place, free from any disruptions.
-
Step 1
First make sure this is what you want. Do you love Christ, and do you really believe that He died for your sins so you would not have to spend eternity in Hell, if only you would accept him and change for him?
-
Step 2
You need to be ready to pray. Talk to God, tell him how you feel. Dont pray some prayer that you were taught. Let it be from the heart. Remember that God wants to have a personal relationship with you. He wants to hear from you.
-
Step 3
Admit to him that you are a sinner. (He already knows, because he is God, but you must humble yourself) Ask for forgiveness of everything you have done in the past, and every sin you will commit in the future.
-
Step 4
Tell God that you accept him, and ask him to accept you. You should already feel changed, as his Spirit will come into you and fill you with joy you may have never felt. You can end the prayer however you would like. Thank him for what he has given you, even if you think you have a bad life, someone out there has it worse. Close with something like - In Jesus Christ's name I pray, Amen.
-
Step 5
Get you a bible. For most Americans, the New International Version is very easy to read because it speaks in Modern Language. Theres nothing wrong with not liking all of the Thees and thous. All that matters is the message that you get from reading. That is the most important part of your new spiritual walk with Christ, to read the bible. You may not be having the best day, but you will always be happy inside because you know where your soul is and you know who is on your side.
-
Step 6
Remember that you can pray to him for whatever you feel. If you want something, do not be afraid to ask. If he sees fit, he will give you what you ask for, you just have to have faith in him. Ask him what direction He wants you to take with your life. He may not show you at first but He will reveal it to you eventually, trust me. Good Luck!
