How to Throw a Mexican Fiesta at Home for Cinco De Mayo

  1. Step 1

Send an evite to your friends for your Cinco De Mayo fiesta. Then, head to a local party store and pick up a piñata, candy and plastic bats. Fill the piñata with candy. Then, tie it to a tree's branch.

  2. Step 2

Put together a Latin music mix CD. Then, set up a food table with popular Mexican food and drinks like tortilla chips, tacos and margaritas. These items can be bought from local restaurants or homemade if you are skilled in this type of cuisine.

  3. Step 3

Have a dance contest. Play popular Latin, salsa, reggaeton, and merengue songs and have your guests show their best dance skills. The best dance couple should receive a grand prize, like a small trophy.

  4. Step 4

Line up for food and chow down!

  5. Step 5

After guests have filled up on food, have them take a swing at a big pinata. Give them colorful, festive bags to put the candy in that they've collected from the broken piñata.
