Do you want to build your own cool, multifunctional side table? You can do it using only a couple of 2x4s. And you can do it in only a couple of hours.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • (2) 10 foot long 2x4s
  • tape measure
  • wood filler
  • circular or hand saw
  • sander
  • drill
  • wood screws
  • paint or stain
  • lacquer
  1. Step 1

    Make these cuts:
    4 pieces @ 22 1/2 inches
    4 pieces @ 6 inches
    4 pieces @ 9 inches
    4 pieces @ 14 inches

  2. Step 2

    Sand all surfaces.

  3. Step 3

Build the frame. Make a recangular box that stands 22 1/2 inches high x12 inches wide x 12 inches deep using the 22 1/2 inch pieces, the 6 inch pieces and the 9 inch pieces.

  4. Step 4

Attach the top. Attach the (4) 14 inch pieces to one end of the box. They will overhang both sides and both ends by 1 inch. Make sure they are flush together and even at both ends. Also make sure they are square to the top.

  5. Step 5

Fill in all holes with wood filler and spot sand smooth.

  6. Step 6

Paint or stain to your liking. Finish with a couple of coats of lacquer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never paint or stain without proper ventilation.
