If you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary, look no further than tuck under chairs. Like low bar stools with an asian pop, these little wonders will gussie up your drab room with minimal effort.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • (2) 8 foot long 2x4s for each chair.
  • Tape measure
  • Wood screws
  • Circular or table saw
  • Drill
  • wood filler
  • sander
  • paint or stain
  1. Step 1

Make these cuts from (1) 2x4:
    4 pieces @ 16 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches
    1 piece @ 15 inches x 3 inches*
Make these cuts from the other 2x4:
    6 pieces @ 15 inches x 3 inches*
*To make the 3 inch cuts, remove 1/4 inch from each side of the 2x4 squaring it off (removing the champfer).

  2. Step 2

    Sand all surfaces.

  3. Step 3

Lay (2) 16 1/2 pieces on thier sides with 9 inches between them. Lay a 15 inch piece across them flush with their tops and outside edges. Repeat with the other 16 1/2 inch pieces and another 15 inch piece.

  4. Step 4

Stand up what you've built on their 16 1/2 inch legs with the 15 inch pieces on the insides. Span their tops with a 15 inch piece flush with their backs and both outside edges. Fill in the rest of the top with the remaining 15 inch pieces making sure that they are flush with each other.

  5. Step 5

When you're finished you will have a stool 18 inches high 15 inches wide and 15 inches deep.

  6. Step 6

Fill in all holes with wood filler and sand smooth.

  7. Step 7

Paint or stain to your liking.

  8. Step 8

Repeat as many times as necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never paint or stain without proper ventilation.
