Looking for a little pizzaz? Why not build this elegant garden table. You don't have to be an expert to get great results.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • (1) 10 foot long 1x6 plank
  • (4) 30 inch long 2x2 pieces of wood
  • Crown moulding
  • Miter saw
  • Tape measure
  • Wood filler
  • Sander
  • Drill
  • Screws
  • Brad nailer
  • Brads
  • Glue
  • Paint or stain
  1. Step 1

Make these cuts from the plank:
    2 pieces @ 30 inches long x 5 1/4 inches wide
    3 pieces @ 10 1/2 inches long x 5 1/4 inches wide
    2 pieces @ 22 inches long x 2 inches wide
    2 pieces @ 6 inches long x 2 inches wide

  2. Step 2

    Sand all surfaces.

  3. Step 3

Attach (1) 10 1/2 inch long piece to the tops of 2 legs (the 2x2s) so that the legs are 6 inches apart. Measure up 5 inches from the bottoms of the legs and span them with a 2 inch x 6 inch plank (attached horizontally - the 1 inch side up and down). Repeat with the other legs.

  4. Step 4

Attach the two sets of legs together using the 22 inch long x 2 inch wide planks also 5 inches from the bottom.

  5. Step 5

Attach the top. Place the (2) 30 inch long pieces on top of the frame, evenly spaced front to back and side to side. Attach the remaining 10 1/2 piece under the top for added support. Make sure the 2 top planks are flush on top and on both ends.

  6. Step 6

Cut the crown moulding to length for the front and both sides. Attach using brads.

  7. Step 7

Fill in all holes with wood filler and sand smooth.

  8. Step 8

Paint or stain to your liking.
