If you want to build a fun conversation evoking piece of furniture, look no further. With just one sheet of plywood you can build this modern, two sided bench.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • (1) 5 foot x 10 foot sheet of plywood
  • Tape measure
  • Circular saw or table saw
  • Wood screws
  • Sander
  • Paint or stain
  • Drill
  • Pocket hole jig
  1. Step 1

    Make these cuts:
    1 piece @ 34 inches x 48 inches
    2 pieces @ 15 inches x 48 inches
    3 pieces @ 16 inches x 30 inches
    4 pieces @ 10 inches x 10 inches

  2. Step 2

    Sand all surfaces.

  3. Step 3

Miter the 3/4 inch edges of the 15 inch x 48 inch pieces to 15 degrees on the bottoms. Attach them to the top of the 34 inch x 48 inch piece so that the 3/4 inch bottoms of the 15 inch x 48 inch pieces are flush and they just touch at the top. Attach the tops together. Make sure the screws don't poke through.

  4. Step 4

Attach the (3) 16 inch x 30 inch pieces underneath the 34 x 48 inch piece as legs. One 16 x 30 piece should be flush with either end and one in the middle.

  5. Step 5

Cut each of the 10 inch x 10 inch pieces into triangles. Attach to the legs and the seat as supports. 2 pieces on the inside of each outer leg and 2 pieces on either side of the inside leg.

  6. Step 6

Fill in all holes with wood filler and sand smooth.

  7. Step 7

Paint or stain to your liking.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never paint or stain without proper ventilation.
