Step 1
Read the instruction manual that came with your stand mixer. Keep it in a handy location. The manual will contain details about the specific brand and model of the stand mixer that you purchased.
-
Step 2
A stand mixer should be kept on a firm, flat and sturdy surface. Stand mixers can be quite heavy; so avoid moving it around your kitchen in order to prevent the chance of dropping the stand mixer.
-
Step 3
All attachments, except for the wire whisk, can safely be placed in the dishwasher. The bowl may be too large for your dishwasher, but it can easily washed by hand.
-
Step 4
Keep all attachments in a designated box rather than throwing them in a drawer. Attachments can be expensive if damaged or lost.
-
Step 5
When using the dough hook attachment, never set the speed setting higher than a 2. A higher setting may overheat the motor, depleting the life of your stand mixer.
-
Step 6
Unplug the stand mixer when it is not is use. Be sure to wash the bowl and attachments soon after use.
