How to Have a Soul Food Party

  1. Step 1

Send out an Evite to your friends inviting them to your soul food party. Include a sign up sheet for each item on your menu. Allow them to add their own favorite soul food specialties.

  2. Step 2

Grab a "Soul Food" DVD (or the film of your choice) from a movie rental store.

  3. Step 3

On the day of the event, set up a food and drinks table. Then, turn on hip hop, R&B or soul music to set the mood.

  4. Step 4

Turn on the "Soul Food" DVD as guests arrive and grab food.

  5. Step 5

Play a "guess that song" game with the music you're playing. Play 5 seconds of a soul, R&B or hip-hop song; then turn it off. The grand prize for the person who identifies the most songs should be a couple of popular CD's and a "Soul Food" DVD. The number of songs should be set at 20 or 30.

  6. Step 6

    Enjoy dessert!
