Use Flash's "Export Movie" Function

The Flash "Export Movie" function allows you to open a Flash movie or select a movie clip and export it as a separate file, possibly in a different format. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Working installation of Flash.
  1. Step 1

    Either open the Flash movie that you want to export or select the movie clip or embedded SWF on your stage that you want to export.

  2. Step 2

    Click "Menu->Export Movie." On a PC, the shortcut is "Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S."

  3. Step 3

    From the drop down menu, select a format in which you will export your movie.

  4. Step 4

    If a new window appears asking you to select options for the export format, choose your options. Then click "OK" to return to the Export window.

  5. Step 5

    Navigate through the folder tree to locate where on your hard drive that you wish to save the file.

  6. Step 6

    Type in a file name in the area provided.

  7. Step 7

    Click "Save" to export the movie.
