Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Box Drill

In this drill the coach will set up 4 cones in the shape of a square with sides of about 10 yards in length. The soccer players will line up facing one of the cones and in line with a side. The first player will sprint from the first cone to the second. There, they will karaoke sideways to the next cone. When they reach the third cone they will quickly backpedal to the forth cone. There they will karaoke to the first cone and quickly sprint to the end of the line. When the first player reaches the second cone, the second player will start and so forth.

  2. Step 2

    2 Foot Ladder Drill

In this drill the coach will lay out a rope ladder and the soccer players will line up at one end. The first player will run to the side of the first box and quickly step into the both with both feet, one at a time, and then step out of the box to the other side with both feet, one at a time. As soon as both feet are out of the first box they will cross into the second box with both feet and cross out and so forth. Once the first player has moved up a few boxes the next player will start.

  3. Step 3

    Ball Tap Drill

In this drill each soccer player stands in front of a soccer ball. When the coach blows the whistle, the players will quickly tap the top of the ball with one foot and then the other, switching as quickly as possible. This drill can be done for number of taps (25, 50 or 100) or for time (30-60 seconds).

  4. Step 4

    Zig Zag Ball Handling Drill

In this drill the coach will set up cones in a zig zag pattern at about 5 yards apart. The closer together the cones, the more difficult the drill. Next the players will line up at one cone and the first player will dribble the ball to the next cone and cut around the cone and on to the next. Then the second player will start. The player will cut around all of the cones and then dribble the ball back to the end of the line.
