You might think that making a delicious alfredo sauce is difficult, but with these simple steps it couldn't be easier! Rich and full of flavor, this isn't a low fat dish, but it's sure to please your palatte!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2qt Sauce Pan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • 1 Pint Heavy Cream
  • 1/4 c. Olive Oil
  • 1 c. fresh grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt Pepper to taste
  1. Step 1

With the sauce pan on the stove, pour the cream in and turn the burner on to medium-low heat. Gently stir the cream consistently so it doesn't burn, and bring to a gentle boil.

  2. Step 2

When the cream reaches a gentle boiling point, you will see small bubbles starting to form, slowly add the olive and the parmesan cheese.

  3. Step 3

Keep simmering the sauce on low heat for about 15 minutes. Make sure to keep stirring so the cream doesn't burn. The sauce will gradually thicken, but adding additional cheese will make it thicker.

When it has reached the desired consistency, add salt and pepper to taste,

Tips & Warnings
  • You can mix any flavoring you like. Such as roasted garlic or roasted red peppers, or broccoli and chicken.
  • The sauce will not be extremely thick, but adding cheese will thicken it further.
  • Extra virgin olive oil will give a robust flavor to your sauce.
  • Add the cheese in small increments. Taking time to let each bit melt before adding more; if you add it too fast, it will be clumpy.
  • Make sure not to leave your sauce. It only takes a few seconds to burn.
  • Keep stirring while simmering.
