For all the good things that can be said about apple pie, two bad things are they are usually full of calories and take a lot of time to make and bake. A quick option is a warm dessert that takes a few minutes and has a calorie count of 200 if you leave out the sugar and walnuts. It "bakes" in just 6 minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Apple
  • Knife
  • Bowl
  • 2 Graham Crackers
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • Brown Sugar (optional)
  • Crushed walnuts (optional)

Instructions

      Skin and core the apple into chunks. Place the chunks in a bowl.

      Sprinkle 2 tsp. of cinnamon on top of the apple chunks. The cinnamon can be more or less than 2 tsp. according to taste.

      Heat in the microwave for 5 minutes.

      Remove the bowl from microwave. Crush and crumble the graham crackers, and spread them on top of the apples. Sprinkle a little more cinnamon, and if desired, 1 tsp. of brown sugar and some walnuts.

      Heat the entire bowl for 1 more minute.

Tips & Warnings

  • Other versions of this apple pie use lemon juice and different microwave times.

  • Give the apple dessert about 1 minute to cool in the microwave.
