Things You'll Need:
- Empty plastic water bottles
-
Step 1
Handwashing container: Fill up the bottles with tap water to take on a picnic/hike for handwashing. Once done, just throw it in a recycle bin, less to bring back home.
-
Step 2
Funnel: Cut off 1/3 of the top portion of the bottle and use it as a funnel.
-
Step 3
Flower Pot: Can't find a flower pot when you need one? Well, just cut off 2/3 of the top portion of the bottle and recycle it. Use the bottom portion for planting flowers or plants. Once the plant is big enough, just transplant it into a regular pot. This works well for germinating vegetables for planting in your garden. You can germinate the seeds and when it's warm enough outside, just transplant them into your garden. No need to wait until it's warm to start planting your veggies.
-
Step 4
Vase: Peel off the label, fill it up with water and use it as a vase. Just put one flower in for a contemporary look. If you want more flowers, just cut off more at the top.
-
Step 5
Oil Disposal: Use the bottles to dispose of used cooking oil. Put a funnel in and pour the cooking oil in. Of course, remember, to let the oil cool before pouring in.
-
Step 6
Craft: Peel off the label and let your children paint the bottles. Once dried, use them as vases and put there favorite flowers in. Put the vases in their rooms, they will love it.
-
Step 7
Painting: Use the caps for painting time. Pour paints into the caps. One cap for each color. This will save on paints and make cleaning up easier. Once done, just throw the caps out. To rinse the brushes while painting, just cut off the bottom of the water bottle and put water in it.
-
Step 8
Checkers: Save the caps and use them for a game of checkers. This will offer a change of color from the usual black and red checker pieces. With so many brands of bottled water out there, the colors/designs are endless. Kids will love picking out their own checker pieces at game time.
