Personalize your Yahoo signature with a blinkie!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • I should think that what you'd need for this activity would be fairly obvious! You need a Yahoo email account and a blinkie!
  1. Step 1

Find a website that offers free blinkies. There are only about a gazillion of 'em! Some good ones to try are...
    www.aftergodsownheart.com/blinkies.htm, www.thecatgallery.com/blinkies.html, donnasblinkies.tripod.com, www.whisperscorner.com/cblink/

  2. Step 2

Find a blinkie that you like and save it to your computer using "right click, save as". DO NOT LINK TO THE BLINKIE ON THEIR WEBSITE! This is called hot linking or stealing bandwidth.
Blinkie = good. Stealing = BAD!

  3. Step 3

Upload your blinkie to a photo hosting service. Photobucket is a good one because they have a feature that lets you generate an html code for your picture (which you're gonna need in just a minute!).

  4. Step 4

Generate the html code for your blinkie and copy it.

  5. Step 5

Go to your Yahoo mail page and click on options.

  6. Step 6

    Click on the signature option.

  7. Step 7

Check the "view html" box at the bottom. Paste the code for your blinkie into the signature area.

  8. Step 8

Uncheck the "view html" box to see how your blinkie looks.

  9. Step 9

If you want, type in a quote or a link to your website and check the "add signature to all outgoing mail" box.

  10. Step 10

Click on Save and voila! You're done! Blink on, Blinkies!

Tips & Warnings
  • This will work with any small picture or graphic, not just blinkies.
  • Feel free to use the blinkies included with this article to get started.
