Many people take love for granted, especially during Valentine's. Sometimes we forget that love is supposed to be celebrated everyday and not just reserved for one day. For those who are single, Valentine's may be a reminder of feeling lonely. And for those who are in relationships, it may become more of a "need" to do something special. But we must not forget that love is not forced, it is felt and it happens naturally. This year, learn how to really appreciate the true meaning of Valentine's, that is the gift of love. And learn how to continue sharing it with your family and friends even after Valentine's!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • SMILE
  • A KIND & GIVING HEART
  • TIME
  • LOVE to share with anyone around you.
Step1
SMILE! Don't think negative thoughts. If you're single, don't think about wanting a special someone (they'll come around eventually, usually when you're not expecting it). Who says you need a boyfriend or girlfriend, a wife or husband, or a fiance to celebrate Valentine's Day? Start thinking positive thoughts and be happy you're alive!

You'll find that you're blessed with so much more than you think, so smile about it! When you smile, it brings positive energy to those that are around you, and more positive energy to those around them. So pass on a smile; it really makes a difference!
Step2
Be thankful!

Be thankful that you've been blessed with another day. Be thankful for the gift of life. Be thankful that you've been blessed with this gift of love. Be thankful for your families and your friendships. Be thankful for what you have.
Step3
Find something you love. Find anyone you love.

Valentine's day is a Holiday of love! You may not realize it, but it's everywhere. Acknowledge it. You love your family; you love your pets; you love your job; you love your home; you love your Church, you love your neighbors; you love music, you love nature... the list goes on!
Step4
Once you find something or someone you love, invest spending time with them and give the gift of love. If you're in a relationship, spend time with your significant other. You don't need to buy each other flowers or candies or cards. If you're someone who expects such things, keep in mind that life is not about getting but about giving. Sure, those are nice compliments, but the greatest gift you can give to anybody, and receive, is the gift of love. So remind your loved ones how much you love them and enjoy each other's company. This goes for your families too.

For those that are single, do something you enjoy doing. If you love music, spend time listening to music. If you love movies, spend time watching them. If you love your pet, take them to a park. If you love nature, spend time outdoors! You get the picture.
Step5
Cherish the moments.

When time is cut short, we tend to wish for more. You never know when you'll get more time to spend with someone you love, so cherish each moment you have with them and never take that for granted.

Tips & Warnings

  • Love. Love truly. Love deeply. Love is a powerful emotion. It's the greatest and most meaningful when it truly comes from the heart. Remember that even though Valentine's Day is a Holiday of Love, we must continue to acknowledge and share it everyday. Have a great one!
