You would have never known that little unassuming shaker of salt on kitchen table could help you accomplish hard tasks around the house. Here are 5 simple things you can use salt for other than seasoning your food.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
You can get rid of pesky water marks on your wooden furniture with this simple method: using salt and cooking oil, mix up a paste and use a sponge to apply it to the ring. After you have let it stand for a few minutes, use a soft cloth and polish as you normally would.
Step2
Have you ever had a sticky iron that has built up gunk on it? Try this next time you encounter that problem: take a little piece of brown paper and sprinkle some table salt onto it, then run the iron over the top of it when hot. You may have to do this several time to remove the baked on sticky stuff off the iron.
Step3
Use salt to make an easy vegetable rinse. Fill a bowl with water and then add some salt. You can swirl the vegetables around in the bowl and it will remove the dirt from greens like spinach.
Step4
You can keep windows free from frost by washing the inside of the window with salt water.
Step5
You can sprinkle a little bit of salt into a greasy pan and then wash as normal. The salt will absorb a large amount of grease before you wash the pan, making it easier to clean.
