On the New York subway, long underground transfers are confusing and annoying. The transfer from the E train to the G train is no exception, but easily navigated with a little know how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Metro Card
  1. Step 1

    Enter the E train in the very first car or as close as you can get to it.

  2. Step 2

    Exit the E train at 23rd St./Ely Ave in Queens, NY.

  3. Step 3

    Walk in the direction the train was moving up a short set of stairs ahead of you.

  4. Step 4

    Veer right and enter a large hallway with two moving sidewalk platforms to your right.

  5. Step 5

    Continue down the hallway past both moving sidewalks until you intersect with another hallway.

  6. Step 6

    The entrance to the G train platform is a downward staircase ahead and on your right.

  7. Step 7

    Walk down the stairs. The Brooklyn bound G train is on your right and the Queens bound on your left.

Tips & Warnings
  • Often the G train runs only from this stop back into Brooklyn. Consult signs and conductors for information.
