Take Your Toddler or Toddler Twins on a Safe Walk

Taking toddler twins on a walk can be challenging to say the least. If your toddler twins are tired of sitting in a stroller, the next best thing to do is put them on a child leash.

I know, I know, you may think this is cruel. But, stop thinking of yourself and think of your child's safety. You will be saving your toddler from running out into the street and being hit by a car when you use a child leash.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Child leash
  1. Step 1

Purchase a child leash. The child leash keeps parents in charge of where their toddlers walk.

  2. Step 2

This is one leash, a doggie leash, on Twin A's right shoulder.

  3. Step 3

This is what the leash looks like on both of Twin A's shoulders.

  4. Step 4

This is one leash, a teddy bear, on Twin B's right shoulder.

  5. Step 5

This is what the leash looks like on both of Twin B's shoulders.

  6. Step 6

This is what the leashes look like on both of my twins before we go out for our late afternoon walk.

  7. Step 7

This is what it looks like with Daddy walking our twins and Mommy taking a photo of our twins walking with the leashes attached to their backs.

  8. Step 8

Before I began actually walking with my twins using their leashes, I let them play with the animal looking leashes in our family room. This way, they were familiar with them and would ask Mommy to go for a walk or "out".

  9. Step 9

Once your toddler or toddler twins are familiar with the leashes, they will think it is fun to go for walk with Mommy. Even if Mommy has to keep their leahes short to keep them on the sidewalk and out of the street and danger.

Tips & Warnings
  • Allow your toddler or toddler twins to play with the leashes for a while before taking them on walks
  • Keep the leashes in your family or living room all the time as a play toy
  • If need be, when walking with your toddler or toddler twins, keep them on a short leash to keep them close to you and out of the street

on 2/24/2008 I think this is a great idea, especially since they are cute little animal backpacks. I also liked the cute pictures you included.
