Set a date for the diaper shower well in advance. This will give you plenty of time to plan everything without time pressure. Decide on a location for the shower. This can be your home, the guest of honor's home or another location. Reserve the location if the shower is not going to be at your home.

2
Send invitations about three weeks before the diaper shower. This gives everyone plenty of time to RSVP. Include directions to the shower location. Request that diapers and baby wipes are to be the main gifts for the mother-to-be. Also specify if the mother-to-be will use cloth or disposable diapers. If you're giving the shower a specific theme, such as a cartoon or a beach or seasonal theme. specify that in the invitation. This will give your guests an idea of how to dress for the occasion.

Identify diaper-oriented game ideas for the shower. Two or three games work well. For one idea, put random baby foods in diapers and have your guests sniff them to identify the food. Whoever gets the most answers correct gets a prize. Another game idea is pin the diaper on the (toy) baby while blindfolded.

4
Design a diaper cake to be the centerpiece of the snack table. You can stack diapers in rounded shapes to resemble a layered cake. A variation is the diaper buggy, in which diapers are arranged to look like a baby carriage. The expectant mother keeps the centerpiece as a gift at the end of the shower.

5
Look for a special gift to give the expectant mother. Several packages of diapers and wipes, a unique diaper pail, a diaper bag or simply a gift card works well as a gift from the host.

6
Order a cake for the shower well in advance. Verify the spelling of any words added to the cake and check your order when you pick it up. The cake flavor and color should match the theme and your honoree's preferences.

7
Hang themed baby decorations around the room where the shower will take place. Streamers, balloons and colored tablecloths can set a festive mood for a diaper shower. You can also use decorations to reinforce a theme, such as matching cartoon character plates, napkins and cups.
