So you want to be a comedian? You'll need a good press kit to get started in the biz. Here are a few tips that can help.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A CD or DVD
  • Paper
  1. Step 1

Gather your material. Do you have a CD or a DVD? It is best to have both as some places only accept one or the other. Also, you should have a strong short set and a strong long set as well.

  2. Step 2

Put your contact information on the actual disc, if possible. If not, put your contact information on the insert. Make sure your contact information is in as many places as possible.

  3. Step 3

Now it is time for your biography. You can be creative with this. Talk about your background and what got you into comedy. It is okay if your bio is humorous and even self-deprecating at times, as long as it's appropriate and not too over-the-top.

  4. Step 4

List your notable accomplishments on a separate sheet of paper. Include any television and radio appearances as well as clubs and production companies worked for, and any other references.
