Yuck! My microwave is nasty and crusty and I hate scrubbing! What am I to do?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dirty, crusty microwave
  • Dish cloth
  • Dish-washing liquid
  1. Step 1

Notice, for maybe the first time in weeks, that your microwave needs a make-over!

  2. Step 2

Wet the dish cloth. I repeat, WET. THE. DISH. CLOTH. I tried this years ago with a dry cloth and almost burned my whole kitchen up!

  3. Step 3

Squeeze a little dish-washing liquid into the WET cloth and place it inside the microwave.

  4. Step 4

Run the microwave on high for a minute or so or until the window in the door gets all steamed up.

  5. Step 5

Use the wet dish cloth to wipe away the crud inside the microwave. Careful, it will be hot!

Tips & Warnings
  • I can't say this enough...wet the cloth before you begin!!! I would hate for someone's microwave to burn up like mine did that time!

on 2/13/2008 Glad I could help! Let me know if it works for you. What happens is that the steam from the WET soapy cloth loosens all the cooked on crap and makes it easy to wipe off.

on 2/12/2008 Vicki - you have a way of reading my mind. I'm going to WET the dishcloth right this minute. Thanks for this because what I do is scrub and scrub until I'm sick of it and make Jay finish it!
