So, your book has been finally published, and you need to get out there and support it. Unless you're Stephen King, you won't be making the talk show circuit. Follow these steps to help make the most out of your book-promotion tour.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Supply of books
  • Patience
  • Professionalism

Step1
Contact the local bookstores, both the independents, as well as the big sellers. Announce your presence.
Step2
Introduce yourself to the people who work in the bookstores you visit. If they have met you they are more likely to recommend your book to potential readers.
Step3
Arrange a book signing. Be sure to leave extra signed copies of your book behind.
Step4
Contact local newspapers and introduce yourself. Pitch an article about yourself. Not every writer gets a book in print. It is a special feat.
Step5
Contact local radio and television shows.
Step6
Periodically stop by the bookstores and re-introduce yourself. Sign any unsigned copies they have on the shelves.
